  • 1 cup white rice
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon or 1 tsp vanilla essence


1. Combine rice, sugar, cinnamon or vanilla, and 3 cups of water in a blender and blend until rice is broken down into coarse grains.

2. Transfer to a large bowl or jug, add 4 more cups of water, and let soak for at least 8+ hours in the fridge (best to prepare this overnight).

3. Puree rice mixture in a blender until rice is like a fine sand. Strain liquid using a fine sieve or cheesecloth (these can be purchased at most grocery stores or easily via Amazon). Store in the fridge; shake before serving.
